BEEST
(FLORA AND FAUNA)
This part of the exhibition was mainly about the eel, as it is a true Amsterdammer. Indeed, the eel is very important for the city’s water as it has a crucial role in keeping the water quality clean.
BEWONER
(CITIZEN OF AMSTERDAM)
What best than an electrical bike on a bridge to represent an eco-friendly citizen of Amsterdam?
I also added the typical poles called «Amsterdammertjes » without whom the streets
of Amsterdam wouldn’t be the same.
BELEID
(POLICY)
Focusing on the Township of Amsterdam making more sustainable decisions for the city, we decided to illustrate a hand writing a greener future. The ink bottle is a hint to the stopera building, where the government of Amsterdam is located.
BEDRIJF
(BUSINESS, AIRPORT & HARBOR)
Here, Arcam was mainly talking about how the airport and harbor will take action towards more sustainability.
Because the main topic of the exhibition was Amsterdam being a circular city, we decided to go with round-shaped illustrations, creating consistency in the identity. Its black rough linocut style translates the authentic storytelling of the exhibition.
ARCAM
ENDLESS AMSTERDAM
Arcam is the architecture center of Amsterdam. They organise programs about architecture and urban development.
In winter 2020-2021, took place an exhibition called EndLESS Amsterdam, about Amsterdam becoming a circular city and the consequences of this transition on residents, businesses, flora and fauna.
With a goal to achieve a fully circular economy by 2050, the exhibition raised questions as can urban growth be sustainable? How do we see this reflected in a built environment?
Accompanying the identity created by Kindly Made with illustrations to represent EndLESS Amsterdam's purpose and support their resources (photos, film, animation, documentation, etc.).
Connecting with their visitors by deciding to go with a natural, authentic yet modern illustrative style.
Mainly citizens of Amsterdam interested in seeing their city becoming more sustainable and circular.

This is a set of icons to illustrate the actions of the Amsterdam City Donut. The City Donut is a special elaboration of the Donut Model by British economist Kate Raworth. The result is a holistic approach that embraces social and ecological perspectives, both locally and globally.
